There are three different types of clothing and three different styles of clothing that you must bring for your beach trip—wearing clothes like resort clothing (for occasions that you’re at the resort), dresses for exploring, and the beach.
Today we’ll be covering clothes for the beach, and of course, this includes beach covers. If you are thinking about the issue of what you should wear to a sandy beach? The answer might be pretty straightforward. Of course, a swimsuit! It’s not much. If you’ve taken the time to research and read this article, I’m guessing you’ve put a bit more thought into what you wear and would like to make sure you’re picking the correct items. Nothing is more frustrating than not packing what you’ll need and packing all the things you believe you’ll require but not enjoying any of them.
The photos were captured during a visit to Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico. This stunning resort is all villa Riviera Maya Resort is situated close to Playa Del Carmen, right in the Caribbean. The beach provided the perfect location for photos of beach attire and swimwear.
So let’s consider my outfit for this blog post as an illustration. The bikini top is bright yellow with shades of white and purple. It’s gorgeous against my skin tone and features adorable gold accents that I love as they work together with gold-colored bracelets. The hat I’m sporting is mostly for sun protection; however, it never hurts to be fashionable even when you’re practical! I finished my bikini with flip-flops, sunglasses, and an ocean cover-up that went with the overall outfit.
As you can see, this isn’t just a bikini on the beach; it’s an entire outfit.
Why You Need a Cover UP
I think that beach cover-ups are necessary, and I will never leave the store without them. Why?
Beach covers to shield you from sunlight. While many of us visit the beach for that beautiful sun-kissed glow, too much exposure to the sun can be unwise.

A fashionable way to shield yourself from the sun’s rays is wearing a beach cover-up. If you’re going to spend all day at the beach – probably the reason you chose to fly to a beautiful paradise in the first instance–plan to wear a cover-up for the beach at least for a small portion of the duration.
After spending a significant amount of time out in the sun, wear a beach cover-up and stay safe for the rest of the day, or you could alternate each hour between bikini-only and your cover-up for the beach.
The need to wear a beach cover-up does not stop with sun protection; it’s also a helpful accessory. Walking towards and from the beach, you’ll want something to cover up with, especially in public areas such as the bar or lobby. In most resorts, your pool might be a little walk, and if you aren’t a fan of walking around in a bikini, you’ll need a beach cover-up—an absolute must.
As I said, we took these photos at an oceanfront location at Banyan Tree Resort in Mexico. It took us just 7 minutes to drive on a golf cart from the hotel to the beach and more than two times that amount on foot. Cover-ups for the beach are necessary and much more straightforward than putting on and taking off a dress.
Types of Beach Cover Ups
So do I begin to convince you of the idea that beach cover-ups are not just stylish but essential?
Let’s look at the various kinds of beach covers that are stylish and provide sun protection.

A tunic cover-up for the beach almost is like an oversized shirt, and it’s a loose-fitting dress that is slightly above the knees and is generally short-sleeved. Tunics suitable for beach wear are made from light fabrics like chiffon silk, cotton, polyester, or rayon. They are available in many prints, colors, and designs. Most tunics come with an elongated V-neck that can showcase your swimsuit underneath. Tunics flow and are typically not tied with belts, but some come with an elastic waistband.
Long Cardigan Cover Ups
This is the outfit I’m wearing in this beach dress. This beach cover-up has an open front that can be shorter or longer, and it’s comprised of lighter fabric than the traditional cardigan sweaters. It can also come with either short or long sleeves. These cover-ups for the beach are perfect for those who are just taking a trip to or from the beach, but you’re not dining out or wandering through a resort town. They’re comfortable and can be sexier because you’re showing your bikini. I love beach cardigans that are slightly larger than a tunic and come with long sleeves.

Sarong Beach Cover Ups
A sarong beach cover-up can be one of the most versatile possibilities. Sarongs are a length of material tied and wrapped for use as a halter dress, skirt, or dress in straps (short or lengthy), one shoulder dress, or one shoulder dress. Your imagination only limits the possibilities—Beach cover-up. Based on the material you choose, you could even make it into a towel and lay it directly on the sand while tanning.
Dress Beach Cover Ups
