Things to know about the costco tire appointment

Consumer Affairs collects feedback on businesses of all sizes, including Costco’s tyre services. The website has a forum devoted to the Costco Tire Centre, where customers post their reviews of this service.

Some people who have had tyres fitted at Costco have been satisfied with the process and are happy with the price they paid. For example, one customer said that they were quoted nearly £200 at another tyre retailer.

But they were charged just £150 by Costco for the same set of tyres. Another customer praised the good-quality work done and similarly noticed how much cheaper it was compared to other tyre retailers in their area.

However, there are also those who feel like their expectations weren’t met when it came to getting new tires fitted by Costco’s tyre centre.

Things about the costco tire appointment:

  • Depending on the car, you may be able to buy your own tyres at Costco, Instore or by appointment.
  • It can be a pain to go in for an appointment when you’re short on time, so we have compiled a list of things that you need to do before a costco tire appointment if possible.
  • Costco has the shortest operating hours of any tyre retailer in the UK. You can’t book an appointment online or over the phone and some turn up between 5pm and 7pm on weekdays. They send tyres by courier to your home address and don’t have a showroom where customers can try them out for size.
  • Costco charges the same price for all its tyres. The cost of new tyres is £150 and there is a £50 charge per tyre if only three or four are replaced.
  • If you are able to save the cost of a half-price coupon, saving can amount to £50 or even more per tyre depending on size.
  • There is also a discount available for Costco members who pay yearly membership fees.

Costco Tire Center reviews on Consumer Affairs:

I took my car in for inspection for a new set of wheels after noticing an uneven tread depth at the front. I made an appointment with the Costco Tire Center and was told that I would need to make a separate appointment to bring the car in for the work.

When I got there, they did not have my vehicle prepared yet, so had me wait several minutes until another customer came in who would be able to take me then. The guy that helped me was nice and even though it was pretty busy there were lots of other customers waiting.

Final Verdict:

CostCo is a great place to save money if you have the time to spare and don’t mind letting your car sit there for hours. This is NOT the place to go if you have a busy schedule and need your car back quickly. The installation was quick and perfect.

However, about a month later, one of the tires began wobbling when my wife drove over bumps or slightly uneven pavement. She took it back to Costco, but they would not replace it because they said it was “not installed correctly.
